The school recently participated in the Wood Trust Foundation’s Youth and Philanthropy Initiative. Each of the 3 school houses selected a charity which supports people in the high school catchment area. The pupils investigated their charity and made presentations before a judging panel. The successful group was Laxford House and their chosen charity was Assynt Mountain Rescue.
Laxford House pupils presented a cheque for £3,000 to members of Assynt Mountain Rescue. This is a small organisation who will benefit enormously from this money.

We will be able to participate in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative for at least 3 more years so the School Houses will have another opportunity to get involved with charities that benefit local people.
