RS Coaches to the Rescue

As reported in a previous post, we had booked and paid for a coach to get us to and from Glasgow for our upcoming trip to Vancouver but the company went out of business suddenly last week.  Our bus crisis was reported on the high school’s Facebook page and the response through Social Media was amazing.   We received money from the local community as well as from complete strangers.

We are delighted to announce that the amazing RS Coaches has offered us a coach at cost and we have accepted.   Thank you RS Coaches and everyone who helped us with our funding emergency.

Vancouver Trip Crisis

The coach company we booked to take us to the airport in Glasgow for the Vancouver Trip (Andrew’s) has ceased trading.  Unfortunately we had already paid for the trip.  We now need to find another bus company and £1600.

Does anyone have any ideas for a replacement company?   We have posted on the school’s Facebook page this morning and there has been lots of ideas suggested.   We are working hard to explore all possibilities for another bus.

Also we will probably have to do more fundraising to find the extra money needed.

Vancouver Field Trip – Valentine’s Hamper

To raise funds for the Vancouver field trip (4-11 October 2017), we will be having several fundraising events.  The first is a Valentine’s Hamper.

Parents should send in an item for the hamper by next Monday.  One item per family group is sufficient.  Pupils will also be expected to actively sell the raffle tickets in their villages.

The hamper will have a red-coloured theme so where possible try to buy items with this in mind.

Some hamper ideas:

  • chocolates
  • sparkling rose wine
  • candles
  • Valentine’s Day decorations
  • heart-shaped biscuits
  • red-coloured shower gel/bath foam/soap
  • heart-shaped accessories – dish, mirror, magnet, sign, etc etc
  • Valentine’s teddy
  • jam
  • Love Heart sweets
  • Love Songs CD
  • Rom Com DVD
  • cup cakes

…and any other items you feel are suitable!

All items should be handed in by Monday 6 February.  Pupils will then be given tickets to sell in their area.

Thank you.
